More choice from Edinburgh Airport

More choice from Edinburgh AirportBudget carrier Jet2 has announced that it will begin operating three new routes from Edinburgh Airport.

Flights will let passengers fly from Edinburgh Airport to locations such as Ibiza, Menorca and Venice from Summer 2009.

The move will expand the destinations the carrier covers from the Scottish capital to 11, including airports in France, Spain, Italy and the Czech Republic.

Jet2's Philip Meeson commented on the new additions, saying: "These three exciting new routes means we have something for everyone in the Edinburgh area including city breaks, sunshine holidays and winter sport getaways.

"The routes have been launched due to high demand from residents in and around Edinburgh. As an airline, we are constantly seeking to improve and broaden the region's access to fantastic destinations, and I feel the latest additions add a particular amount of variety to our route network."

Figures released showed that Edinburgh Airport remains Scotland's busiest hub, handling 886,027 passengers in August.
