Better service for Glasgow Airport passengers

Passengers using Emirates flights from Glasgow Airport have been enjoying a superior service, reports the Press and Journal.

The airline has claimed that the services, which have been running since 2004, have increased passenger choice and opened up new destinations in the east.

Currently Emirates offers the only long-haul eastbound service from the Glasgow Airport on which customers can fly direct to Dubai where they can connect to other destinations.

At Glasgow Airport, Emirates passengers have a dedicated check-in area, including desks exclusively for business class and an executive lounge, attracting significant numbers of business travellers.

Emirates' manager for UK north & Scotland Laurie Berryman told the newspaper: "We have been thrilled with the success of our service and how enthusiastically it has been received by both business and leisure passengers across Scotland."

Some 150,000 passengers flew on the route during the first 12 months of operation, a number that has now grown threefold to more than half a million.
