Leeds/Bradford Airport up for award
Leeds/Bradford Airport has been nominated for a prestigious tourism award, it has been reported.The Yorkshire hub is one of ten to be up for the best UK airport for leisure in the annual British Travel Awards 2008, known as the 'Oscars' of the travel industry, with the award ceremony to be held in London.
Tony Hallwood, commercial and aviation development director at Leeds/Bradford Airport, said: "We are thrilled to have been nominated for the award. We are proud to be recognised as delivering our widest ever choice of services to Yorkshire and everyone at the airport will eagerly await the judge's decision in early November."
This news comes on the back of Jet2's announcement that it will expand its network from Leeds/Bradford Airport with two more routes to Europe.
According to the Civil Aviation Authority, when it monitored the time it took delayed flights to arrive at airports around the UK, Leeds/Bradford Airport had the best average of only seven minutes.
