Terminal 5 gets Wi-Fi capability
Passengers travelling through Terminal 5 at Heathrow Airport will now be able to take advantage of Wi-Fi thanks to T-Mobile, it has been reported. The new technology will allow passengers at Terminal 5 to access the internet via their mobiles, laptops and PDAs.
Developed in partnership with airport operator BAA, the internet access zone spans an area equivalent to about 50 football pitches.
Travellers who are not with T-Mobile will be able to make use of its Terminal 5 hotspot at a cost of £5 for one hour or £10 for 24 hours, payable by credit card.
Ian Denchfield, head of commercial telecoms at BAA, said: "BAA has a long-standing relationship with T-Mobile, together consistently meeting passengers' expectations to ensure up-to-the-minute technology for travellers.
"Seamless internet connectivity is an important part of our commitment to innovation and will form a key element in the future of travel."
Terminal 5 at Heathrow Airport sees around 27 million passengers every year.
