Cardiff Airport road discussions held
A meeting was held in Glamorgan last week to discuss the possible construction of a new link road to Cardiff Airport, the BBC has reported.Plans are afoot to build a three-lane road through the area from the M4 to Cardiff Airport, which if built would be a single-carriageway road with climbing lanes to allow safe overtaking.
Currently there are three options on the table and the Vale of Glamorgan council will consider responses to the three schemes in September before any further decisions are taken by the Welsh assembly government.
A spokesperson for the assembly government told the BBC: "The airport has experienced considerable growth which, in turn, is generating more traffic to and from airport.
"The Welsh Assembly Government has therefore commissioned consultants to undertake a detailed study of possible options to improve access by both public and private transport."
The government expects the study will be completed by the end of the year.
