Airline holds film festival
Passengers flying from Heathrow Airport will be able to witness a film festival aboard Virgin Atlantic flights, it has been reported.Since February, the airline has teamed up with the National Film and Television School (NFTS) to show nine short films made by graduates of the NFTS on its in-flight entertainment system with passengers voting for their favourites.
In September the top three shorts will be passed to a judging panel including the directors of famous films such as the Commitments and Harry Potter: Order of the Phoenix.
NFTS director Nik Powell said: "We are proud of the quality of our films and it is exciting to have them showcased on Virgin Atlantic in this competition.
"Our filmmakers go on to work at the very top levels in the film and television industry and I am sure that the passengers will enjoy watching the films that have been made here at the NFTS."
The three winning films will be screened on Virgin Atlantic flights until the end of the year, meaning thousands of people will watch them.
