Rome hosts film festivalMovie lovers may enjoy a holiday in Rome this autumn as the Italian capital is to host its International Film Festival, it has been reported.

Taking place for the third time this year, this event will bring some of the top names from the world of international cinema to Rome.

The guest of honour will be movie megastar Al Pacino, who will pick up the Marc'Aurelio Alla Carriera acting award on behalf of the Actors Studio, of which he is one of the presidents.

Pacino said he was "thrilled" to represent the association at this "wonderful" film festival.

Other highlights will include previews of The Duchess, the new film starring Keira Knightley and Ralph Fiennes, and The Baader-Meinhof Complex starring Bruno Ganz, who won critical acclaim for his depiction of Adolf Hitler in Downfall.

The Rome International Film Festival will be held from October 22nd to 31st at the Auditorium Parco della Musica.
