Airline will not leave Durham Tees Valley Airport
Speculation that Flyglobespan will be leaving Durham Tees Valley Airport has been quashed by the airline, reports the Northern Echo.Internet rumours had led to ideas that the budget airline could be transferring its flights from Durham Tees Valley Airport to Newcastle Airport but a spokesperson from Flyglobespan as moved to dispel the conjecture.
"We have yet to finalise our full programme for next summer and are in talks at a senior level with Durham Tees Valley Airport as we look to plan ahead for 2009. Flyglobespan is not planning a move to Newcastle," said the spokesperson.
News that the airline, which currently flies to southern Spain and Tenerife, would remain at Durham Tees Valley Airport have been greeted by the north-east hub.
"We have established a strong and constructive relationship with flyglobespan and the public have responded very positively to the flight programme," said an airport statement.
The north-east airport was renamed Durham Tees Valley Airport as part of a major redevelopment plan in 2004.

I can not understand why flight details have not been given by the Globespan airline f0r 2009 from DTV airport. I can only think they will pull out as we have heard nothing to say other wise.
bookings are being lost as people plan holidays now for next year.

I am desperate to book my flights from Durham Tees Valley but as yet Globespan have no flights scheduled. when will this be available?

I noticed that Wednesday flights have disappeared from Durham Tees Valley to Malaga, as well as no flights beyond 10th January. Need to book flights for March and I really would like to support my local airport as well as it being so much more convenient and cheaper in the long run. Must admit getting fed up of this area being the 'poor relation'. Come on Flyglobespan and DTV stop messing us around and make a decision
