Madrid set to rockMusic lovers planning visit Madrid this summer may want to participate in an increasingly popular festival, according to reports.

Taking place on September 12th, the Metrorock Festival is one of Madrid's major music events which will see the best live music acts perform at Madrid Complutense University with over 30,000 revelers expected to attend.

Metrorock was originally an exhibition of rock photographs but was transformed into a music festival that has attracted a number of top independent bands.

This year's highlight is set to be the appearance of British dance legend the Stereo MCs while the South American sounds of pop-flamenco artist Melendi and rumba group Los Delinquentes will also share the main stage.

Apart from the live stage there are also DJs on hand in the club area who will entertain the insomniacs by playing throughout the night.

Ticket prices range from €40 (£31) to €25 (£19) for concessions while those booking in advance can expect to pay €30 (£23).
