Luton Airport gets new flightsPassengers travelling from Luton Airport after October will have double the destinations to choose from, according to reports.

Low-cost airline Ryanair has announced it will launch seven new flight routes from Luton Airport, from October 27th, bringing the total number of routes it provides at the hub to 20.

Natalie Raper, marketing director at Luton Airport, said: "We are delighted to announce these new routes with Ryanair giving our passengers yet more choice of places to visit and more convenience for business travellers."

The seven new routes include a domestic service to Derry, three times a week, while Ryanair will fly twice a week to Beziers in France and Rzeszow in Poland and thrice a week to Biarritz, Szczecin in Poland, Trapani in Italy and Kaunas in Lithuania.

"The airline's decision to expand the number of destinations served from London Luton reaffirms the airport's ease of use with great transport," added Ms Raper.

Ryainair chief executive Michael O'Leary has said he is considering a bid for Stansted Airport, the Telegraph has reported.
