Gatwick hosts new service to Nantes

Gatwick hosts new service to NantesHolidaymakers travelling from Gatwick Airport now have access to a new flight to France with easyJet.

The carrier launched a new service from London Gatwick to Nantes on May 21st.

Operating on a daily basis, the new connection is expected to carry some 60,000 passengers in its first year.

Nantes is the sixth largest city in France and is located in the country's Loire region, about 50km from the Atlantic coast.

It is a popular city break destination owing to features such as its historical and cultural heritage, temperate climate, 1,000 hectares of public parklands and seafood restaurants.

EasyJet UK general manager David Osborne said: "EasyJet has seen a huge increase in flights to great short-break destinations this year, reinforcing easyJet's position as the favourite airline for independent travellers, providing convenient low-cost flights from your local airport."

The low-fares airline this week celebrated ten years since it first launched services from London's Stansted Airport.
