Durham winter flights announced

Durham winter flights announcedFlyglobespan has revealed the network of flights that it will offer from Durham Tees Valley Airport this winter.

The carrier will offer weekly flights to a number of popular destinations, including Malaga, Alicante and Tenerife.

Rick Green, chief executive of flyglobespan, said that these routes were "extremely popular" last year and are expected to do just as well this winter.

According to the airline boss, winter holidays are no longer a luxury to be enjoyed by wealthy people.

"More and more people want to escape the cold weather and we are enabling them to do so by offering a range of winter sun destinations at an affordable price, with the added convenience of flying direct from their local airport," he added.

Kerry Quinn, managing director of Durham Tees Valley Airport, said: "We are delighted that flyglobespan will again be operating a substantial winter programme and it underlines the strong support the airline enjoys amongst customers across the north-east."
