Leeds celebrates eco-certification
Leeds/Bradford Airport has announced that it has been reaccredited with ISO 14001 certification following a recent audit. This stamp of approval is the international standard for environmental management and is recognised across all industry sectors.
In order to receive the certification, organisations must demonstrate business management practices that incorporate environmental awareness and responsibility.
The airport's food and drink services performed particularly well in the audit, with Burger King, Yates', Food Village and O'Briens all given the highest rating following health and safety inspections.
Tony Hallwood of Leeds/Bradford said the airport was "delighted" to have achieved another ISO 14001 certification.
He added: "It goes a long way in demonstrating our ongoing commitment towards effectively managing our environmental issues.
"We are very proud of our business partners and the hard work and commitment that they have put into making sure that Leeds Bradford International Airport makes for a clean, safe and comfortable environment from which our customers can start their journey."
