New route to link Manchester to Alicante
Low-fares airline easyJet has announced that it is to add a new route from Manchester Airport to Alicante in Spain.The service will commence on September 29th and operate four times a week throughout the winter.
People on 'mini breaks' and families are expected to make use of the route, with close to 60,000 passengers set to board the new flights in their first year of operation.
Carly Brear, easyJet's UK commercial manager, confirmed that this is the first route the airline has introduced to its new Manchester base.
Tim McDermott, director of aviation at the north-west hub, said: "We're delighted that easyJet is already boosting its destinations from Manchester Airport with the announcement of this new Alicante route.
"There is a fantastic buzz around the arrival of easyJet at Manchester and we expect high passenger demand for this popular route."
EasyJet's other flights from Manchester serve destinations including Crete, Innsbruck, Malaga and Malta.
