Top London shows extended

Top London shows extendedTwo of London's top theatre shows have had their booking periods extended into 2009.

Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat will now be taking bookings at the Adelphi Theatre until January 10th 2009, according to the London Theatre Guide.

This show has enjoyed a boost in popularity owing to the Any Dream Will Do TV talent show and the winner of that programme, Lee Mead, will continue to fill the title role for the extended period.

Created by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice, the musical was restaged at the Adelphi in July 2007 following its initial launch at the London Palladium in 1990.

The other show to have its booking period extended is Jersey Boys, the story of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, which will be open at the Prince Edward Theatre until April 25th next year.

Jersey Boys first opened in New York in 2005 and won four Tony Awards in the following year, including best musical.
