EasyJet pursues UK expansion with new Edinburgh route
Travellers using the airport hotels available at Edinburgh are now able to access new services to the south of France following a route launch by easyJet this week. The low-cost carrier launched its inaugural flight from Edinburgh Airport to Nice on April 24th, which will operate three times a week on Saturdays, Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Some 20,000 passengers are expected to use the route in the next 12 months.
The launch from Edinburgh is the latest element of easyJet's ongoing expansion from UK hubs, with flights from Bristol Airport to Biarritz, Olbia and Split and a connection between Glasgow Airport and Faro also beginning this week.
David Osborne, the airline's UK general manager, said: "Another popular destination on the easyJet network has landed in Scotland.
"This direct route to Nice has already proven a popular choice and will offer Scots the opportunity to experience the south of France."
