Cheap flights to Iceland offered at Gatwick
Iceland Express will be flying from Reykjavik to London Gatwick on a daily basis at the beginning of the winter flight schedule this year, according to IceNews. The low-fare airline service is also celebrating its fifth anniversary this year and reported a 20 per cent increase in its passengers in 2007.
The airline flies to nearly 20 destinations around Europe including Stansted, Stockholm, Alicante, Warsaw, Copenhagen, Barcelona, Berln and Eindhoven.
The company has no length-of-stay restrictions, no Sunday rule and offers seasonal direct flights between Copenhagen and Akureyri in Northern Iceland, and Egilsstair in Eastern Iceland.
According to the Icelandic Tourism Board, tourism in the country has risen by over 150 per cent since 2003, with Iceland often in the top ten of the world's must visit destinations, according to Iceland Express.
Iceland Express is own by NTH, a group that includes the Icelandic investors Fons Eignarhaldsfelaghgf, FL group and Sund.
