Capacity increased between EMA and Brussels
Travellers in the Midlands now have more access to flights to Belgium after bmi regional based a larger aircraft at Nottingham East Midlands Airport (EMA).The carrier increased the capacity on this route as a result of growing demand, TravelMole reports.
An Embraer 145 plane that is now being used to operate the flights offers 30 per cent more capacity than the previously used Embraer 135.
The change has been incorporated into bmi regional's summer schedule, which launched on March 30th, and will see more than 2,000 additional seats made available between Nottingham and Brussels in July and August.
In addition to visiting the Belgian city, travellers will be able to access connections with bmi's Star Alliance partners, such as SAS, Lufthansa and Austrian Airlines.
Nottingham EMA recently announced that it handled some 395,136 passengers in February this year, which was a 19.2 per cent increase on the same month in 2007.
The increase was attributed to new destinations offered by Ryanair, easyJet and bmibaby, as well as increased capacity on Thomson, Thomas Cook and XL.com routes.
