Ryanair launches new route from Prestwick-

Ryanair launches new route from Prestwick-A new route from Glasgow Prestwick Airport is being set up by Ryanair to Barcelona Reus and the region of Salou, it has been reported.

The new service brings the total number of destinations served by the airline from Glasgow to 26.

Other routes offered by the airline from the Scottish city include Cork, Stockholm (Skavsta), Derry and Milan (Bergamo).

UK sales and marketing executive of Ryanair, Ashley Casey, said: "We are delighted to launch this service from Glasgow Prestwick today to Barcelona Reus, a popular city break destination.

"A fantastic destination for all holidaymakers, rich in the culture of Catalonia along with years of history."

The carrier is currently pursuing an expansion programme that has included 20 new routes from Birmingham Airport, with new destinations including Pisa, Oslo, Marseille and Shannon.

This is not a new route, its simply a seasonal service, ie only operates during the summer months and this is just the flights re-starting for summer 2008 after the winter break.
