Travellers in the north-east now have more access to flights to Denmark following the recent launch of new services from Newcastle Airport.Cimber Air added three extra flights a week from Newcastle to the Danish capital of Copenhagen from April 2nd, bringing the total number of weekly scheduled connections to ten.
Copenhagen is one of the many cities in central Europe and Scandinavia, along with the likes of Krakow, Stockholm and Prague, that is popular with Brits on city breaks.
Chris Sanders, head of airline relations and development at Newcastle Airport, said: "We are very pleased that Cimber Air has chosen to increase the frequency of flights from our region to Copenhagen.
"This is a particularly beneficial route for passengers as it strengthens Newcastle's links into the extensive SAS network, providing customers with a greater choice of flights from Copenhagen to destinations across Europe and beyond."
Travellers can access a number of European destinations through Newcastle, including Stavanger in Norway, Salzburg in Austria and Varna in Bulgaria.
