BA targets full schedule from T5
British Airways has said that it is planning to operate a full schedule of flights to and from Terminal 5 at Heathrow Airport this weekend. The airline has forecast that it will operate 360 out of 394 services to and from the terminal on April 4th, rising to the full complement of flights on the following day.
All customers travelling through the new facility should also be able to check in with both hand and hold baggage.
Since Terminal 5's grand opening on March 27th, it has been plagued by technical problems and glitches, causing widespread cancellations and delays and hundreds of pieces of lost luggage.
In a recent statement, chief executive Willie Walsh said: "Since Thursday, when Terminal 5 opened, we have made clear that the service we have provided has not been good enough. We apologise sincerely to our customers."
It was revealed today that the problems at Terminal 5 cost British Airways £16 million in additional expenses and lost revenue and reduced the airline's passenger numbers for March by around 78,000.
