Top West End shows extend booking periods
Visitors to London will have more opportunities to see two of the city's top shows over the coming year after both Avenue Q and Les Miserables had their booking periods extended.Avenue Q, which opened at the Noel Coward Theatre in June 2006, is now taking bookings at the St Martin's Lane venue until April 25th 2009, according to the London Theatre Guide.
The show has proved a hit with both audiences and critics, with the Evening Standard describing at as "very well executed and sporadically hilarious".
Featuring a mixed cast of humans and puppets, Avenue Q tells the story of a college graduate who moves to New York looking to find some fulfilment in his life and discovers an experience very different to the one he was expecting.
Les Miserables, which tells a story of love, bravery and tragedy during the French revolution, has a new seven-month booking period, with tickets now on sale until April 25th next year.
The show is currently the longest running musical on the West End, surpassing the record previously held by Cats when it celebrated its 21st birthday in London in October 2006.
