Suzanne Shaw to return to Chicago

Suzanne Shaw to return to ChicagoFormer pop star Suzanne Shaw is set to return to West End show Chicago this year.

The singer, who recently won ITV television show Dancing on Ice, will play the role of Roxie Hart between June 2nd and July 12th, although she will not appear on Fridays.

After being part of pop band Hear'Say, Shaw has performed in a number of theatre shows, including Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and the Rocky Horror Show.

She will take over the role of Roxie from Birgitte Hjort Sorensen, who is currently starring alongside Rachel McDowall, who plays Velma Kelly, and Terence Maynard as Billy Flynn.

Chicago is one of the West End's most popular shows and has seen a number of famous faces join its cast over the years, including Denise Van Outen, Tony Hadley and Kelly Osbourne.

It opened at the Adelphi Theatre in 1997, before moving to the Cambridge Theatre in 2006, where it is currently taking bookings until February 2009.
