Manchester Airport welcomes easyJet
Manchester Airport has today welcomed the arrival of easyJet flights which will now take passengers from the northern England hub to various destinations.Travellers will now be able to fly on easyJet to numerous cities across Europe and the world including Tenerife, Paphos, Malaga, Malta and Heraklion.
Manchester airport managing director Andrew Cornish said: "We're delighted to be welcoming easyJet to Manchester.
"It is a vibrant and ambitious airline that will offer Manchester passengers a popular range of routes at excellent prices."
David Osborne, easyJet UK general manager, added: "easyJet recognises the strong demand for low-cost convenient services from the north-west and we are delighted to be the north-west's largest airline."
Today, the low-cost carrier also announced that it would be launching a new route from Liverpool Airport to Jersey.
Last week, Peel Holdings, owner of Liverpool John Lennon Airport revealed plans to build a second commercial airport in Manchester.
