New airline ready to take off from EMAA number of people taking flights from Nottingham/East Midlands Airport (EMA) on March 30th will be travelling with the all-new Thomas Cook Airlines.

Thomas Cook's new carrier will offer its first service this weekend to Monastir in Tunisia.

Two aircraft will be based at the Nottingham hub and the tour operator will use them to fly to 28 destinations in the summer and 15 winter locations.

The company's launch of its new carrier has seen crew taking part in a total of 18,000 training days, more than 17,000 litres of paint used to rebrand aircraft and amendments made to more than five million pages of flight manuals.

Frank Pullman, managing director of Thomas Cook Airlines, said: "We're very pleased to have our new airline ready for take-off from East Midlands Airport, enabling us to serve the people of the East Midlands even more effectively during the all-important summer season this year."

This summer, Thomas Cook expects to carry 3.2 million passengers more than 50 million miles to 78 different destinations.
