New diner opened at Newcastle
People catching flights from Newcastle Airport now have a wider range of dining options available to them following the opening of a new bar and diner. The very first Eagle Bar Diner outside of London opened at Newcastle earlier this month.
Dave Laws, the chief executive of the airport, and Nicholas O'Dwyer, the man behind the Eagle Bar concept, were among those present at the opening of the new bar and eatery.
Eagle Bar Diners are inspired by the style and feel of cafes and restaurants in New York and sell foods ranging from breakfasts, burgers and steaks to brownies and cheesecakes.
The bar also sells a range of bottled and draught beer, wines, non-alcoholic drinks and hot beverages.
Mr O'Dwyer said: "We are very excited to bring the Eagle Bar Diner brand to the north-east.
"We feel it is the right product for the international airport environment, as the menu caters for people from different time zones."
Nicola Boulter, head of commerce at Newcastle Airport, said: "It's an honour to have been chosen as the location for [Eagle's] first restaurant outside London and it is testament to the success of the airport that we are able to attract such a prestigious brand."
