Talks continue over BA pilot strikes

Talks continue over BA pilot strikesTalks are continuing today between British Airways and the British Airline Pilots Association to try to avert strike action over the Easter break.

Passengers jetting out of the UK are likely to see huge delays and numerous cancelled flights if pilots working for the carrier decide to go ahead with the walk-out.

The capital's airports including Heathrow, Gatwick and London City are likely to be affected as well as travel hubs in other major cities such as Birmingham and Manchester.

Pilots working for BA have long been threatening to carry out strike action after a row over jobs and working conditions.

The major concern of the pilots, however, is the company's new European airline OpenSkies which will take passengers to the US.

If it goes ahead, it will mark the first time in three decades that BA pilots have staged a walk-out.

Thousands of families could be forced to cancel their holidays if the pilots decide to strike over the busy Easter period.
