Lufthansa looks forward to Bristol, Birmingham services
German airline Lufthansa has looked forward to its forthcoming services from Bristol Airport and Birmingham Airport, claiming that they are evidence of the airline's commitment to its UK services. The carrier experienced a record year on its network of flights to the UK and Ireland in 2007, with more than 3.66 million people flying to and from the islands with Lufthansa.
This is an increase of almost 60,000 (1.6 per cent) on the figures recorded in 2006.
Marianne Sammann, Lufthansa's general manager for the UK and Ireland, indicated that this growth could continue this year as a result of new route launches.
"Our commitment to starting a new operation linking Bristol International Airport with Frankfurt from the end of March, along with the addition of the new services from Birmingham and Dublin, shows the importance of the UK and Ireland within Lufthansa's worldwide network," she said.
"As well as offering passengers quick and easy access to many of the main German cities we are committed to ensuring that our flights to and from the UK and Ireland offer the shortest possible onward connection times to our worldwide network."
Passengers flying with Lufthansa will be able to access connecting flights through its hubs in Frankfurt, Munich, Dusseldorf and Hamburg.
