Aberdeen Airport 'most improved in 2007'
Aberdeen Airport has been given an award for achieving the best improvement of all of the world's air hubs in 2007.The Airports Council International (ACI) named Aberdeen as the most improved hub in its 2007 service quality awards.
Some 200,000 passenger surveys formed the basis for the awards, covering every aspect of airport operations from check-in to departure.
Southampton Airport was another UK hub that performed well. It received the 'airport people award' which recognises customer service and courtesy for the Europe region and was also named the fifth best airport in Europe.
Craig Bradbrook of the ACI said: "Service quality should never be viewed as a 'nice to have' feature in managing airport services, but as a key discipline in the airport management process.
"We see a high correlation between management commitment to service and passenger satisfaction."
The best air travel hub in the world last year, according to the research, was South Korea's Incheon airport.
