Bmibaby confirms new routes from Manchester
Low-fares airline bmibaby has announced that it will begin operating two new routes from Manchester Airport this summer.New flights to Lisbon, the capital of Portugal, will operate on a twice-weekly basis from June 17th and bmibaby will be the only carrier offering services to the city from Manchester.
Another major city not currently served from Manchester Airport is the Spanish capital of Madrid, a situation that bmibaby will remedy from June 16th, when it will launch its first service in a new four-flights-a-week connection.
Other changes at Manchester this year will see bmibaby flying four times a week to Barcelona from September 8th as well as an additional Sunday service on the airline's route to Ireland West Knock.
The changes will see the carrier flying to 14 destinations and operating 186 flights per week from Manchester throughout the high season.
Tim McDermott, director of aviation development at Manchester Airport, said: "Bmibaby is a dynamic, award winning airline that offers passengers a range of flights at excellent prices and we are delighted to see the start of two exciting new routes to Lisbon and Madrid.
"With bmibaby now offering flights to Barcelona and increasing the frequency of flights to Ireland West Knock this will allow passengers a great range of choice."
