Glasgow to get new flights to island hotspots
A travel company is to launch a number of new flights from Glasgow Airport to popular holiday locations throughout Europe and the Mediterranean.Teleticket will fly from the Scottish airport to Heraklion, the capital of Crete, and the Greek island of Rhodes between May 21st and October 22nd, the Glasgow Evening Times reports.
These will not be the end of the new offerings from Glasgow Airport, however, as Teleticket will offer two flights, on October 9th and 12th, to Arrecife on Lanzarote.
Flights will also be available to Tenerife, Paphos and Gran Canaria's capital Las Palmas at various points in October.
Neil Chapman, managing director of Teleticket, said: "These additional regional Scottish flights in October will expand our already successful Scottish flight programme from Glasgow."
Glasgow Airport can look forward to a range of developments this year after it was revealed in January that it will receive millions of pounds of investment from operating company BAA.
Much of the investment has been earmarked for the 4,000 square metre skyhub extension that is currently under construction and due for completion in October.
