Monarch launches new Manchester service

Monarch launches new Manchester serviceManchester Airport recently hosted the launch of new flights provided by low-fares airline Monarch.

The carrier launched a new service to Murcia in south-eastern Spain from Manchester on February 8th, bringing its total number of destinations served from the hub to 12.

Five flights a week are currently available on the route, increasing to a daily service for the summer season.

Liz Savage, managing director of Monarch' scheduled services, said that the company was surprised by the popularity of the new connection.

"We are delighted to be launching this new route from Manchester to Murcia and have been overwhelmed by how well it has been received with the first flight almost fully booked and over 20,000 bookings already taken," she said.

Monarch's other flights from Manchester Airport serve destinations including Lanzarote, Tenerife, Barcelona and Faro in Portugal.

The carrier also operates out of Birmingham Airport, London Luton and Gatwick Airport.
