East Midlands gets new route to Palma
A new route has been launched linking Nottingham/East Midlands Airport (EMA) with the city of Palma, Mallorca.EasyJet launched its inaugural service from the Nottingham hub to the Balearic island destination on February 7th.
EMA passengers will be able to use the new connection initially on a three-flights-a-week basis, before it is upgraded to a daily service on April 12th.
David Osborne, easyJet's UK general manager, said that Palma is a popular destination with families as well as city break travellers.
He also claimed that the airline's continued expansion from Nottingham/East Midlands Airport reflects its commitment to growth across the UK.
Penny Coates, managing director of the base, said: "We are delighted to see the first easyJet flight to Palma taking off this week from EMA.
"We are confident Palma is going to be a popular destination for the people of the Midlands, with its depth of history, culture and nightlife offering something for everyone to enjoy."
