Low-cost airline to offer new Gatwick service
Clickair has announced that it is to launch new low-cost flights from Gatwick Airport to Spain this year.The carrier said that it will begin daily services to Bilbao in northern Spain from March 30th, a route that was previously operated by national carrier Iberia.
Bilbao will be clickair's second destination from London Gatwick and its fifth Spanish service from the UK, with flights currently available to Valencia and La Coruna from Heathrow Airport.
Scottish travellers can access thrice-weekly services to Barcelona from Edinburgh.
Alex Cruz, chief executive of clickair, said: "We are very pleased to be adding another popular cultural destination to our network from London Gatwick.
"Furthermore, any travellers flying with us from London Gatwick will soon be able to experience our innovative click&fly check in."
The carrier's web check-in service enables its UK passengers to select their seat online and print their own boarding pass.
Spain is the most popular destination with people flying from Gatwick Airport, with Malaga, Palma, Alicante and Tenerife its top four international destinations.
