Cardiff Airport focuses on business fliers

Cardiff Airport focuses on business fliersCardiff Airport has launched a campaign to identify the needs of Wales' business community.

A survey has been devised that asks business executives where they would fly to if they could access any destination from Cardiff.

It is hoped that the results of the poll will provide the most comprehensive and accurate set of information pertaining to the travel requirements of Wales' businesspeople.

Data that is gleaned from the survey will be presented to airlines at a special route-planning conference in Porto, Portugal in May.

Peter Phillips, head of marketing and communications at Cardiff Airport, said: "Typically, when airlines seek to strengthen existing or establish new routes, they need hard and fast data before considering the commitment of aircraft and personnel.

"This massive co-operation exercise is the best chance for getting that evidence that we have ever had."

In 2006, the five most popular destinations from Cardiff were Amsterdam, Palma, Edinburgh, Alicante and Dublin.
