Birmingham welcomes more flights to Hamburg

Birmingham welcomes more flights to HamburgBirmingham Airport passengers will have more access to Germany this year with the launch of an enhanced service from Lufthansa.

The airline will commence a new daily flight from Birmingham to Hamburg from March 31st, boosting the current connection offered from the West Midlands.

Marianne Sammann, Lufthansa's general manager for the UK and Ireland, said that this development highlights the importance of Birmingham Airport within the operator's network.

Peter Vella, business development director at the West Midlands hub, said: "Lufthansa is one of Birmingham's longest established scheduled carriers so we're really pleased to be able to launch another route with the airline's team to complement its existing network to Frankfurt, Munich and Dusseldorf from Birmingham."

People flying to Hamburg will be able to access the city centre within 20 minutes of landing at the airport, according to Lufthansa.

It is a popular destination owing to its location, on the Elbe and Alster rivers, and the onward connections it provides to central and eastern Europe.
