Directions for Short Term Car Park (Yellow)
The airport is 2 miles from jct 10 of the M1 motorway and the route from this exit is well sign posted. If you are travelling via the M25 leave at Jct 21 and join the M1. Access from the East and the A1 (M) is via the A505 dual carriageway from Hitchin. The airport lies off the A505 and is clearly sign posted. Please allow extra time for your journey, due to roadworks on the M1. For further info go to www.highways.gov.uk. PLEASE ARRIVE AT CAR PARK AT LEAST 30 MINUTES BEFORE CHECK IN

On arrival follow the yellow coloured signs for the Short Term car park, drive up to entry barrier and press for ticket. On ticket will be your car registration and booking reference number. Once you have your ticket, enter car park and follow signs to nearest spaces. Make a note of where you have parked and the nearest bus stop if applicable. **THERE IS NO NEED TO INSERT YOUR CREDIT CARD AT THE BARRIER**

On return: Return to vehicle and make your way to the exit barrier.The courtesy bus to the car park can be found in the bus bays outside the terminal building marked SHORT TERM PARKING or YELLOW car park. At the exit barrier please enter the ticket you took on arrival into the exit column. Providing you have not overstayed on your booking, the barrier will automatically raised. If any overstay fee is applicable this will be displayed on the exit column and can be paid by either debit card or credit card at this point. If you have not overstayed your booking times and a charge is showing, or if for any other reason the barrier does not raise please press the intercom for assistance and be ready to quote your booking reference number.

The number of 24-hour periods charged for when you pre-book is calculated on the basis of the times you select when making your booking. However, if your actual entry and exit time changes and as a result your actual time in the car park runs into another 24-hour period you will be liable for an additional day's charge at the drive-up tariff.

What is the drop-off procedure?

On your return: Please make your way to the exit barrier and enter the ticket you took on arrival. Providing you have not overstayed on your booking, the barrier will automatically raised.

What security measures does the car park have?

The Short Stay car park is secured by a high perimeter fence, is well floodlit and is protected by 24hr CCTV surveillance and manned patrols

What else do I need to know?

Height restrictions do not apply. Trailers cannot be parked on this car park. There are dedicated parking bays for disabled short stay users. These are clearly marked and located adjacent to the terminal building.
