Queen Flies Easyjet for £22.95!

Our favorite April Fools gag this year was the story that the Queen flew from Luton Airport with Easyjet, paying a credit crunch busting £22.95. The stories first appeared in a couple of national newspapers, and then quickly made the rounds on a number of online news websites, fooling people all over the world.

The story came with a pretty convincing photo of a woman looking remarkably similar to the Queen boarding the easyjet flight from Luton to Aberdeen. The story continues “She had minimal security for the trip from Luton to Aberdeen – in time to play a joke on Prince Philip, perhaps, who is already at Balmoral for Easter”.

The FHR web-team were debating what type of parking service the Queen would have opted for - low cost airport parking or the meet and greet parking service! We came to the conclusion that she would have probably found the few extra pounds and got herself and Prince Philip a nice cosy airport hotel room with parking included.

Were you fooled by this story, or any other April Fools jokes this year??
