The Russ Hill, a budget hotel situated in the village of Charlwood, is just 4 miles from the airport. Built in the late 1800's as a country manor this hotel has 130 rooms of varying size.

We have stayed in this hotel before when on trips abroad. We've always found it very comfortable and excellent value. We stayed in the new block recently and we thought it was tastefully done and the food we had in the restaurant was excellent. We consider staying here part of our holiday and a lovely way to begin it.

I have stopped here several times before but Ihave never had such poor rooms I also booked a room on my return my bathroom was only 3 foot wide have had much bigger wardrobs

Stayed outward & inward. Ist night room was cramped & very warm with high level window like cell. Did not sleep well. 2nd night we were given a very nice comfortable room. What a transformation. We slept very well.

Hotel was clean and the staff were helpful, the restaurant was a set carvery which was plentiful and well cooked. We didn't try the bar food but they catered for children as well.Bus Transfer ran on time and was free on the return journey. The only downside was the lack of a lift to the upper floors which maybe difficult for families with young children
