Description of Europa Hotel in Gatwick

The Europa is a modern hotel located by Junction 10a on the M23 and is part of the Britannia chain of hotels. The hotel completed a refurbishment all bedrooms at the end 2008.

Rooms

All rooms have en-suite bathroom, tea and coffee tray, TV, direct dial telephone and hair dryer. Family rooms for 5 have 1 double bed, 1 bunk bed & 1 "Z" bed. Latest check out is 11.00 at weekends children sharing a room with adults must be 16yrs or under.

Restaurant

There is a carvery restaurant @£14.50 per person (3 courses) and a bar. Where stated in the room description, dinner inclusive meals will be two courses in the restaurant. Children under 16 eat free when sharing a room with 2 adults who are also dining.

Leisure Club: Per Session:- £4.00 for an adult and £2.00 for a child. Towels are available for hire at a cost of £1.00. Hotel easy to get to, tired but very good value for money. Self service buffet style good with plenty of choice of main course, little choice of starter and pudding but again value for money.

We stayed here before and after our holiday and we much preferred this site to another one close by which we used before. The rooms were more than adequate and the food from both the restaurant and room service were excellent value for money. There was only one slight downside on the airport transfers which were only hourly and we had just missed one back from the terminal so a 50 min wait in the cold after a holiday in a hot climate was not the best thing for a group with 3 young children! We even had a suite allocated to us on our return stay so that made uo for things

Hotel looking a bit tatty, not a bad rate through FHR parking, which was totally disorganised but certainly wouldn't pay normal rack rate.

The main problem with this hotel is the bus transfer. Although it only takes 10 minutes, the service is every hour. The bus stop is about 300 metres from the terminal and waiting in the cold and dark is not much fun.

ordered two meals in the bar, steak dinners,my steak was so tough i could not even cut it never mind eating it ,my wifes steak was a lot better but not great,we asked for it to be taken away and the waitress duly obliged and apoligised but she never came back with any message or apoligy and totaly forgot about us,my wife finished her meal ,and me being tired of waiting just went to bed as not to cause any trouble,we have never had this trouble before and always use this hotel from gatwick,but i think now its time for a change,we would most probally recomend this hotel but not for the food

the hotel is shabby with scruffy and split sofas in the bar area. The room had seen better days and smelled of cigarette smoke despite being a non smoking room. The breakfast buffet was basic and the staff were not interested. We stayed here 2 years ago so thought it would be OK. we won't stay here again.

This hotel was a very reasonable rate and comfortable facilities. The transfer to and from the Airport cost £5 each and if you miss one bus, you have to wait for the next which can be 45 minutes. Apart from that, everything was good.

Comfortable room and booking room, meal & parking together worked out very reasonable.Very busy but managed to find parking space without too much trouble. Transfers ran exactly to time.
